The NIH recommended daily amount is 400 to 420 mg for adult men and 310 to 320 mg for adult women, from food and supplements combined.
The NIH sets an upper limit of 350 mg a day for magnesium from supplements and medications for adults, not counting food. Above that, diarrhea, nausea and cramping become more likely. Follow the label, consider a smaller serving and ask your doctor what is right for you.
Different magnesium forms are bound to different partners, such as glycine, citrate or malate. A blend spreads the dose across several of them.
Follow the label. Many people make it an evening drink as part of their wind-down routine.
Stevia leaf extract and monk fruit extract.
Magnesium can interact with some medicines, including certain antibiotics and osteoporosis drugs. Ask your doctor or pharmacist first.
